Client
Server/Architecture
Network Logic
has been designing and implementing Client Server networks for over
15 years. The basis behind this architecture is simple: a “Server”
is a computer, or a software package, that provides a specific kind
of service to client software running on other computers. There
are many different classifications for servers for example: A “fileserver”
is a centralized server on a network to store, retrieve, and share
your documents, pictures, programs, and anything else necessary.
A fileserver makes it much easier to backup your data in the case
of a calamity (including the delete key). You can also increase
the technologies in the fileserver for better redundancy; a “print
server” is a dedicated server that connects a printer to a
network. It enables users to print independently of the file server
or a dedicated PC. Since networked printing typically accounts for
more than half of all network activity, it may not be economical
or efficient to route all printing jobs through a general file server,
which could be overwhelmed with print jobs and cause the entire
network to slow down. User applications i.e., Microsoft word, Excel,
PowerPoint generally run better when installed on the workstation.
Let us help you determine what your business needs are for this
architecture and propose a Logical solution.
Thin-Client/Server
Computing
Thin-client/server
computing means that 100 percent of all application execution lives
on the server. Users gain universal access to these applications
from powerful desktop computers using thin-client software or through
truly thin devices such as Windows-based terminals. Depending on
the design and the end-user requirements, a Windows Terminal Server
and/or Citrix Server is deployed to facilitate this process.
The thin-client software can reside on any device including handheld
computers, networked computers, Windows terminals, a PC or workstation
running Windows 98/95/2000 or Windows XP Pro.
Network Logic has worked with this technology since it's inception
in 1989. We can provide your network with this architecture to ensure
maximum efficiency and reliability.
Network
Management
Many of our
customers ask us to design, install, or upgrade their current network,
but also utilize our skills in Network Management and Optimization.
Network Management can be a broad term by definition but the tasks
we perform for this include:
Administration
of File Servers
Monitoring
Network Performance
Ensuring
Router / Switch peak performance
Verifying
network is virus free
Software
inventory process control
Many other
related network day-to-day tasks
VPN
The Internet
has forever changed the way that we do business. An outgrowth of
Internet technology and thinking, Virtual Private Networks are transforming
the daily method of doing business faster than any other technology.
A Virtual Private Network, or VPN, typically uses the Internet as
the transport backbone to establish secure links with business partners,
extend communications to regional and isolated offices, and significantly
decrease the cost of communications for an increasingly mobile workforce.
Network Logic designs all VPN's using Cisco Systems hardware. Cisco
Systems is the leader of networking hardware and backs up each product
they sell. Whether it's a complex multi-site to site VPN solution
or simply remote users accessing an internal server, we'll provide
the best cost effective solution for you.
Email
Systems
Network Logic can provide
your company, small or large with a company wide Email system. Instead
of the secretary posting notes on everyone's chair or monitor, she
can take the message and send it to you immediately. This can be
done using several different types of Email systems. Microsoft Exchange
and Novell's GroupWise are just a couple to mention that we work
with. Users' can check their business email from home, airports,
and hotels, just about anywhere. Whether you have five employees
in one office or five thousand located around the world, we have
the Email solution for you.
